The Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s administration for bringing governance and accelerating development across the territory closer to Abuja residents.
Candido said the administration, through the FCT Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike, had delivered democratic dividends and strengthened the sense of belonging among indigenous communities.
He said this at the FCT Stakeholders Assembly endorsement rally in Abuja, where political leaders, traditional rulers, area council chairmen and residents endorsed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
The stakeholders also endorsed Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda for the FCT senatorial seat, Hon. John Gabaya for Abuja North Federal Constituency and former Kwali Area Council Chairman, Danladi Chiya, for Abuja South Federal Constituency.
Describing Wike’s appointment as a turning point in the territory’s development, Candido said successive administrations had not brought government interventions as close to the people as the present government.
“Your coming to Abuja remains a blessing to the good people of the Federal Capital Territory. Some of us have seen successive administrations in Abuja, but we have never seen an administration that provided democratic dividends and brought government so close to the people as the administration of Mr. President through you, the Minister,” he said.
He noted that indigenous communities, including the Gbagyi, Gana-Gana, Ibira, Koro, Hausa, Gaide and Bassa, were increasingly experiencing recognition and representation under the current administration.
Candido, who said he had toured the 17 graded chiefdoms in the FCT as Renewed Hope Ambassador, urged Wike to deepen inclusiveness by ensuring adequate representation for the nine traditional chiefdoms and Nigerians from different ethnic backgrounds living in Abuja.
He cited his tenure as AMAC chairman as an example of inclusive governance, recalling that he appointed people from different ethnic groups to key positions in his administration.
On the 2027 elections, Candido described Aduda as the best senator produced by the FCT, citing his legislative record and contributions to the territory.
He urged residents to reciprocate the administration's development efforts with political support, insisting that beneficiaries of government interventions should not take them for granted.
Candido also cautioned against political insincerity, urging Wike and other stakeholders to distinguish genuine supporters from those allegedly working against the administration behind the scenes.
He expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure victory in the 2027 elections, pledging the Renewed Hope movement's total support for Tinubu's re-election.
“By the grace of God, APC is going to win this election 100 per cent, and we are not going to regret it,” he added.
