The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has won the Public Information Campaign of the Year Award at the 2026 Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Special Recognition Awards, in recognition of its contributions to public enlightenment, civic education and strategic government communication.

The award was presented on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, bringing together key stakeholders in the advertising, marketing communications and corporate sectors to celebrate excellence, creativity and innovation.

The Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, was represented at the ceremony by the Director of Communication and Media, Bala Musa, who received the award on his behalf.

The recognition highlights the Agency's role in disseminating government policies, programmes and initiatives, promoting civic awareness and strengthening public engagement across the country.

Reacting to the award, Issa-Onilu described it as a significant endorsement of NOA's renewed commitment to innovative public communication, national value reorientation and citizen engagement.

He said effective public information campaigns were essential to national development, building public trust, promoting responsible citizenship and bridging the communication gap between government and citizens.

The Director-General reaffirmed that the Agency would continue to deepen public understanding of government policies, promote the National Values Charter, strengthen national unity and encourage positive behavioural change in line with its mandate.

He dedicated the award to the Agency's management and staff nationwide, particularly personnel working at the grassroots, whose dedication and professionalism continue to advance NOA's visibility and impact.

Issa-Onilu also commended ARCON for recognising the strategic importance of public sector communication in national development, noting that the award would further inspire the Agency to adopt innovative, inclusive and citizen-centred approaches to public enlightenment.

He stressed that NOA would continue to leverage its nationwide operational network, traditional and digital media platforms, and strategic partnerships to promote informed citizenship, national cohesion and sustainable behavioural change.

Other awards presented at the ceremony recognised achievements in consumer response management, sponsorship marketing, brand reinvention and innovation, as well as excellence across sectors including banking, aviation, telecommunications, education, healthcare, entertainment, hospitality and real estate.

The award marks another milestone in NOA's efforts to reposition public orientation as a vital instrument for national transformation and strengthen the delivery of impactful information campaigns that resonate with Nigerians across all segments of society.
